A-List Driving Academy offers live classroom instruction over Zoom and behind-the-wheel training. Choose the full Driver Education package or pay for the classroom course first and schedule your driving sessions as you go.
Maryland Driver Education Requirements
To complete Driver Education, students must finish:
- 30 hours of live classroom instruction over Zoom: 10 class days, with 3 hours of instruction per day. Classes are offered Monday through Friday for two weeks or on Saturdays and Sundays over five weekends.
- Six hours of behind-the-wheel training: three separate two-hour driving sessions.
Students may complete both parts with A-List or complete their driving hours with another Maryland MVA-approved driving school.

Full Driver Education Package — $475
Includes:
- 30 hours of live classroom instruction over Zoom
- Six hours of behind-the-wheel training in three two-hour sessions
- One-on-one driving instruction
- A training vehicle with instructor controls
Pay as You Schedule — $175 for Classroom, $150 per Driving Session
Pay $175 for the classroom course. Then schedule and pay $150 for each two-hour driving session. Three sessions are required to complete the six hours of behind-the-wheel training.
Total when paying this way: $625.
Classroom-Only Program — $175
Includes:
- 30 hours of live classroom instruction over Zoom
- Maryland-approved course materials
- Required quizzes and final exam
- Proof of classroom completion
Driving lessons are not included. Students must complete six hours of behind-the-wheel training with a Maryland MVA-approved driving school.
Individual Driving Session — $150
Each session includes two hours of one-on-one driving instruction. Sessions are available for students who need to finish their required driving hours, as well as for extra practice, adult lessons, confidence-building, and road-test preparation.
You Can Take Classes and Driving Lessons at the Same Time
You do not have to finish all 10 classroom days before scheduling your driving sessions. You can work on both parts of Driver Education at the same time, as long as each is scheduled separately.
For example, you could schedule a driving session from 9:00–11:00 a.m. and attend a Zoom class from 4:30–7:30 p.m. on the same day.
How to Get Started
- Choose how you want to pay: Purchase the $475 package, or pay $175 for the classroom course and $150 for each driving session as you schedule it.
- Schedule your classes: Complete 10 three-hour class days. Choose the Monday-through-Friday schedule over two weeks or the Saturday-and-Sunday schedule over five weekends.
- Get a learner’s permit: A valid Maryland learner’s permit is required before driving lessons begin.
- Schedule your driving sessions: Book three separate two-hour appointments. You can schedule these while you are taking classes.
- Complete Driver Education: After you finish both the classroom and driving requirements, the school that provides your driving lessons will report your completion to the Maryland MVA.

- Schedule early, especially if you have a deadline. Preferred dates may not be available.
